Behind The Office Music

Submitted on November 25, 2009 No Comment

Kelly Kapoor’s (Mindy Kalling) dedication to Ryan Howard (B. J. Novak), called “Male Prima Donna” is a significantly catchy melody! In fact, there is a distinct possibility of you singing (or humming, should you doubt your singling abilities) the song to yourself throughout the day, at the very least if you have heard it once! This peek into The Office’s web episode trilogy (which supposedly appears on NBC.com) offers a peek into Kelly and Erin’s video for their first single as girl group Subtle Sexuality (The series follows and portrays the behind-the-scenes commotion during filming).

What is praiseworthy about the song, however, is the fact that it more than compares to the popular numbers on the radio currently. Also, it includes references to OD’ing on Baby Aspirin. Add both a B.J. Novak rap and a very Auto-Tuned Ed Helms to the mix and there you have it! Kelly’s explanation of the meaning behind it is the understanding that you can love a guy who gives you mixed signals, but can you sleep with a guy who really likes you (even though you may not)? Thought provoking, shall we say? What we would like to ask you is whether you are intrigued enough to check out the song. And once you’ve done that, did you like the song enough to add it to your iPod’s playlist?
