Dwight is Dunder Mifflin’s Top Salesman, the office oddball, intelligent, self sufficient but lacks social skills and common sense. He is the office nerd and despite his success at his being a salesman, he is rarely seriously by his colleagues. He is always at odds with Jim Halpert, his rival salesman at the office.

Rainn Wilson

Dwight is a former volunteer sheriff deputy and was trained in surveillance. He is essentially kind hearted and means well, though he is really just awkward in showing it. He was a competent salesman, thus he holds the title “Assistant to the Regional Manager”, though he always attempt to elevate himself as second-in-command to Michael Scott. He always act as a know it all, and craves authority towards others. Like Michael, he has a poor sense of humor, but always attempts to joke around Michael to appease him.

Dwight is played by the actor Rainn Wilson. Rainn was born in Seattle, Washington on January 20, 1966. He holds an MFA from Tisch School of the Arts in New York University and a member of The Acting Company. He has appeared as Arthur Martin in the TV series Six Feet Under, and also guest starred at other TV series such as Law and Order: Special Victims Unit, CSI, Numb3rs, Entourage, and Monk. He has hosted Saturday Night Live and appeared on the films Almost Famous, America’s Sweetheart and My Super Ex Girlfriend.
